Background context

In 2021, Hertzy Kabeya made the decision to develop a platform intended firstly for internal use within the company. As an Edtech company, our mission extends beyond enhancing education; it also involves also addressing youth unemployment rates within our country. Hertzy's initiative led to the creation of a Workplace Platform designed to facilitate employment opportunities for our students and effectively manage their productivity while aiding in their acquisition of work experience. Regrettably, I had minimal involvement in the research process for this project and had limited input regarding its direction. My primary responsibility was focused on designing the UI in accordance with the CEO's drafted list of requirements.

UI Design / Prototype

Landing page

Hertzy, being an ardent supporter of Bento Design, emphasized the importance of the landing page showcasing the most crucial features of the Web App and ensuring their quick accessibility. Here's my design solution: The landing page features a left navigation menu for easy access, along with several bento boxes displaying key sections such as Ongoing Projects, Activities, Ongoing Tasks, Team Mates, etc. Additionally, there's a news feed section highlighting major project updates to keep users informed and engaged.

Task Management and Activity Timeline

We've devised a streamlined method for companies to effectively manage and track tasks and activities. Each head of department will have the ability to create projects, within which they can outline specific activities. These activities will consist of individual tasks that need to be completed within designated time frames. To ensure transparency and collaboration, all activities and progress updates will be visible to every team member on a shared timeline. This setup facilitates clear communication and accountability across the team, promoting efficient project management and timely task completion.

Tracking progress and forms

The heads of departments and managers will have the capability to request submissions through built-in forms that are closely integrated with activity progress tracking. These forms will serve as a means to collect assignments in various formats, including documents and media. By seamlessly tying forms to activity progress, the submission process becomes more streamlined and efficient, allowing for easier tracking and management of tasks and assignments within the platform.
